COVID19 CHANGES TO AYF GROUPS

AYF plans to operate following the Governor's Minimum Standard Health Protocols as well as adding some extra precautions for our participants. Aside from the protocols listed in the link above, we will:

  • Updated Mask Policy

    • We are updating our mask policy to align with CDC recommendations. The CDC recently updated their policy to state the following:

    • Outdoors. In general, people do not need to wear masks when outdoors. However, particularly in areas of substantial to high transmission, people who are not fully vaccinated are encouraged to wear a mask in crowded outdoor settings or during activities that involve sustained close contact with other people who are not fully vaccinated.

    • We feel in order to best keep campers, coaches, and parents who drop off safe, we WILL REQUIRE masks at pick up and drop off times. After everyone is checked in after drop off, participants will have the option to put their masks away until 15 minutes before pick up time. We feel that having masks on at pick up and drop off will keep campers safe from exposure from adults dropping off. Also being able to remove masks during running and biking during this Texas heat will keep campers comfortable and safe.

    • If you do not want your child taking their masks off during running and biking unless taking a snack or water break, please email us to let us know.

  • AYF will no longer provide snacks for campers. You will need to send a minimum of two snacks and two water bottles.

  • Equipment will be sanitized regularly.

  • Participants and coaches will hand sanitize at drop off, several times during camp, and before pick up.

  • When dropping off, you are expected to follow the Governor's Minimum Standard Health Protocols listed at this link to ensure the safety of campers and coaches.

  • In the event of rain, we will need to cancel camp for this day, as we will not be able to move indoors. We will give you two hours notice in the event we need to cancel camp.

  • Coaches and campers are encouraged to have a mask that they can lower around their necks when running or biking, but be able to slide on when we are meeting back together or transitioning as a group.

We hope with these new precautions, we can run a safe and successful summer camp. Please do not hesitate to email with any questions you may have.
